UFO Cover-Up? Live!
A syndicated television special on 14 October 1988 featured shadowed informants who described aliens kept as official guests.
The programme UFO Cover-Up? Live! went out on 14 October 1988 to 130 syndicated stations across the United States. It promised a revelation of a covert federal effort to conceal extraterrestrial life. Building on research by the ufologists Bill Moore and Jaime Shandera, the show put questions about the Majestic 12 documents to two informants who sat in shadow, Falcon and Condor.
Falcon described three aliens, which he called extraterrestrial biological entities, kept as guests by the government. He said one of them loved strawberry ice cream, and that they came from Zeta Reticuli. Wikipedia identifies Falcon as Richard C. Doty and Condor as Robert M. Collins, both described as officers of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. A researcher's report adds that in December 1988 a senior producer on the programme confirmed Doty was Falcon.
The broadcast itself is on record, and its claims are those of the informants. One account says it set UFO research back by decades, and another says it brought the Majestic 12 hoax to many viewers.
"Drawing upon the work of ufologists Bill Moore and Jaime Shandera, the program interviewed shadow-clad informants Falcon (Richard C. Doty; intel and counter-intel officer from AFOSI - Air Force Office of Special Investigations) and Condor (Robert M. Collins; intel and counter-intel officer from AFOSI) about the Majestic 12 documents.[5] Falcon (Doty) told a story of three aliens (called "extraterrestrial biological entities" or EBEs) that were "guests" of the United States government, one of which was fond of strawberry ice cream. Falcon claimed the aliens came from Zeta Reticuli."
