Henrietta Nelson died at Yaxley Hall in April 1816, aged 82, after a fall down the stairs, the Eastern Daily Press reported in its Weird Norfolk series in 2019. She had said before she died that she wished to remain at home, and her body was laid in a mausoleum on the hall's grounds, with the family vault at the village church passed over. The paper says she lay at peace there for many years.

William Johnson painted her portrait. Wikipedia's list of reportedly haunted paintings says the portrait is held to contain her spirit, and that her ghost goes with it when it leaves the house. People looking at it have reported her face shifting shape. Others report a pale figure, dressed as she is in the painting, walking the grounds.

Wikipedia's article on Yaxley, Suffolk, describes the hall as a 16th-century Grade II* listed building that lost two wings to fire in 1922. It says the hall's painting of Henrietta Nelson is said to be haunted, and that the painting went back on display recently after nearly a century away. The article gives no place for that display.
