Elizabeth the doll
A bridal doll at the Museum of Haunted Objects in Rotherham, which its owner Lee Steer calls the most haunted doll in the world.
Lee Steer, a paranormal investigator in Rotherham, bought the bridal doll Elizabeth on eBay in 2017 for £866 after learning of paranormal activity linked to her, YorkshireLive reported in 2025. He kept her at home for about a year. He then moved her to his museum, a former miner's house in the town that people call the Poltergeist House, where she is on display.
Wikipedia says Steer has recorded claims that the doll causes scratches no one can explain, along with other disturbances. A 2020 YorkshireLive piece on the Museum of Haunted Objects said Elizabeth had come to be billed as the most haunted doll in the UK, which led to TV appearances. In 2025 ITV's This Morning covered claims about the doll and her effect on Steer's relationship, and said her reputation came from the trouble she caused her previous owners.
In 2019 Hull City Council, announcing a visit by a haunted museum, listed among its items a Victorian bridal doll said to cause nightmares and trigger fire alarms. The council did not name the doll.
"Elizabeth is a bridal doll associated with alleged paranormal activity in the United Kingdom. The doll gained media attention after paranormal investigator Lee Steer documented claims of unexplained scratches and disturbances connected to the doll. Elizabeth later appeared on ITV's This Morning, where the programme described claims surrounding the doll and its alleged effect on Lee Steer's relationship.[20][21]"
