The Kelly Cahill encounter
Kelly Cahill said she saw a hovering craft and beings on a road near Melbourne on the night of 7-8 August 1993. Sources give both dates.
A Melbourne woman of 27, Kelly Cahill, said she and her husband drove to the Dandenongs to see friends and stayed for a barbecue. They headed home along the Belgrave-Hallam Road. About midnight, according to ABC News, the two again saw lights she took to be the same ones, "hanging above the road", that they had noticed earlier.
The date is given two ways. Wikipedia and one retelling say 8 August 1993, the encounter running past midnight. The ABC article says her story is of 7 August 1993, the evening of the visit. Both fit a single night.
Cahill described a big dark round craft hanging just above the ground near the roadside, with orange lights circling its edge. Wikipedia says she also claimed to have been abducted by its occupants. All of this is her own account.
