A creature somewhere between ape and wild man, reported by shepherds in the mountains of northern Pakistan.

The Barmanou, also spelled Barmanu, is reported in the mountains of north-western Pakistan. The News on Sunday calls it a two-legged, humanlike primate and says shepherds have reported seeing it. It describes the word as the Pakistani counterpart of Bigfoot or the Yeti, used in more than one regional tongue: Khowar in Chitral, Shina and Kashmiri.

Wikipedia says the creature appears in the folklore of northern Pakistan, where stories describe it either as an ape or as a wild man, depending on the telling. It is said to have both human and apelike features and to wear animal skins on its back and head. Folklore also gives it a reputation for abducting women and trying to mate with them.
